Past Work: Database
Database Copier
Ever wanted to duplicate a single table or entire database from one server to another? How about if one Server is Oracle and the Other is DB2?
The copier is designed to move tables and indexes from one database connection to another. Those connections can be on the same server or two servers of completely different manufacture. The copier supports Oracle, MSSQL, DB2 and Sybase. At runtime you can choose to move only the structure or all of the data as well. Indexes are only moved after the data for improved performance.
The copier even supports the ability to upgrade the structure during the move, adding fields, removing them, etc. It also has the ability to create sequence fields (triggers) when moving an auto sequence field from MSSql to Oracle, or similar.
Database Comparator
Ever wanted to know if two databases contained the same data? Perhaps you are testing two versions of the same application and you want to know if you start with the same data and run both versions that you have the same results?
The database comparator produces simple to follow reports of discrepancies between rows in two similar tables. You can tell it how to order the rows, which columns to ignore and on numeric fields what error is no error. For instance, one client was using it to compare a database on an AS/400 with fixed point math to a UNIX system with floating point, they set .05% and 100.21 = 100.208765, no error message from the comparator, but 100.21 and 100.26489345 did error.
Schema Scanner
The schema scanner is intended to be used with our Code generation products, it can convert an entire database schema scanned off of the server into an XML meta model for use with the code generator.
